Hello all my pretty people! How has everyone’s week been? We had a pretty nice week at the #withlovelakehouse. I didn’t have a ton of appointments this week and that’s always really nice. I have a baseline of two appointments per week, that’s rehab, physiotherapy rehab not vodka rehab, lol. The way it looks right now is that will be my norm, rehab will just be part of daily living for me, twice a week, every week. We work on mobility, all my neuropathic pain, etc. Next week I have a specialist appointment in Toronto, I think we might spend a night or two in the big city. What’s happening in TO right now? Any good suggestions?
Today the small humans had a no school day, and we stayed in jammies all day long. My neck is super sore this week so I said it’s a free for all and we watched movies and played games and it was perfect. Husband made us pizza for dinner, even did keto crust for me. So thoughtful. If you’re looking for the recipe we used this one Fathead Low Carb Keto Pizza Crust . It was delicious and easy. Big win. Okay, so how is Keto going? It’s going. It’s still too much meat for my liking, but today I had almost none, so I think it’s a learning curve of new recipes. New fav snack is celery with Boursin. Delicious. Results? I lost another pound. Slow but I was fairly loose with fruits and vegetables this week. We also went to lunch and I thought the wings weren’t breaded, buuut they were. No big deal, maybe I’ll have better results next week. After a couple years of gaining any loss feels amazing.
All the fall feels. It is definitely turning fall in the county, and it is incredible. Normally I prefer to look at fall than participate. You know me, I get so excited about Christmas sometime after July first, it’s hard to focus on fall. This year I’m trying to play around with fall and Halloween a little, easy crafts, decor, etc. One of my favourite things is pumpkin painting. If you’re looking for a super easy fall DIY or crafts with kids this is it! Hint: You can paint them over and over and over, excellent for kids and ideas gone wrong. I used craft paint, Rustoleum spray paint, and 3D chalk paint, and dollar store glitter. I think I’m repaint some this week, I’d like to play around with stripes using masking tape. I think it will be adorable on the natural white pumpkins. Did these white pumpkins always exist? Have I been using orange all these years when I could have had white? Hmmm!
Indoors we are full of changes. Lighting, furniture, trim, it’s all coming together. I’ve been debating what to do with the mantle. Have I ever actually done a fall mantle before? I think soft greens and white chalk painted pumpkins are in the future. I might experiment and use yarn to create a stripe around the pumpkins as well. I think a glue gun and some pretty yarn could add beautiful texture. Speaking of texture, have you seen the velvet pumpkins all the rage? They’re a beautiful soft blush velvet. Honestly I wish I’d thought of it myself. They are sooo adorable and I bet super simple to make.
This weekend we have great plans of wood stacking and puttering about the county. A super sweet place to visit, and one of our favourites, is Campbell’s Orchards just down the road from us. I bought all our pumpkins there, the kids went for wagon rides and picked apples with grandma. It’s just a lovely spot to visit. And if you’re all the way there why don’t you just pop on over here because this:Oh my. I guess all those fires I love need to start somewhere.
Have a beautiful weekend, enjoy the beautiful fall weather. I’ve been looking forward to tall boots, sweaters and smelling of wood smoke and baking.
